Meet Our Founder
Legacy Music Lessons LLC, formerly known as Impromptu Music LLC, was founded in 2006 by classical pianist Irini E Jennings. Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey with Greek heritage, she studied piano in Istanbul and later in Athens, Greece where she continued her studies. In early 1990’s she came to Indianapolis, IN to pursue her Bachelor degrees in Psychology, Music and Philosophy at the University of Indianapolis. She studied piano under Dr. Richard Ratliff and Dr. Steve Robertson and later graduated with a Master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy from Butler University of Indianapolis.
Although she performed in recitals in Turkey, Greece, and in the United States, her passion has been mainly teaching students of all ages the skill of playing the piano. Over the years, she has cultivated a rich and engaging teaching philosophy that emphasizes not only the technical aspects of piano playing but also the joy and expressiveness that music can bring to one’s life. She believes in the transformative power of music and is dedicated to guiding her students through personalized lessons that address their unique needs and aspirations. Specifically educating students in playing the piano with the goal of making them independent of a teacher one day, she instills the confidence and creativity necessary for them to explore their musical journeys and develop their individual styles. Through patience, encouragement, and a deep understanding of various musical genres, she inspires her students to not only master the instrument but to also appreciate the artistry and emotional depth that come with playing the piano.
